Host:
“Hi welcome back to Living Dayton everyone. We’ve got some important information to share with you. If you’re a homeowner, there are many things you don’t want to hear. One of them is the sound of dripping water which can quickly cause a flood in your home resulting in thousands of dollars in water damage. Hopefully you haven’t experienced it yet. But lucky for you, the folks from Ram Restoration are here with some great tips to help you get out of hot water. Good to have both of you Emily and Randy. Good to have both of you on. This, like we said, is something you don’t want to hear, but real quick let’s talk about the damages that this could potentially have on someone’s home. Randy, I’ll start with you.”

Randy:
“Well when it happens, we hope it never happens, but when it does, you call your insurance and get with them and get a claim number. You know, one of the most important steps is that when you get with your insurance company, they’re going to give you recommendations. Check the Better Business Bureau, and look for a certified company that’s certified in your area and licensed to do what they’re doing.

Host:
“What we are talking about here again is water damage and as Randy was pointing out, the number one thing you want to do is immediately shut off your main water valve.”

Randy:
“Oh absolutely. That’s the first thing, to stop that water. That’s number one.”

Host:
“Emily, I want you to elaborate a little bit on that, because I know you have some experience in dealing with residents and homeowners on this. Sometimes I guess there could be some confusion as to what to do first”

Emily:
“Well I want to say from personal experience, I didn’t know where my main water valve was and had to find that out. So I would tell your viewers, please look in your home or speak to someone who knows where it is, because in an emergency sometimes that can be crucial information. But we do deal with customers who are dealing with a loss. Some of them, their homes are completely in shambles. So make sure you work with a restoration company that is very cognitive of that and helps you through a very difficult situation

Host:
“Ram Restoration is one that you definitely one could call. I did want to ask you. I don’t want to put you on the spot. Is there a common place for a water valve in a home?”

Randy:
“Generally it’s going to be in your utility room. If it’s not in your utility room where your hot water heater is and your furnace is, then it’s probably out by the street. And if there’s snow on the ground and so forth then you might need to be calling the water department to come out and shut it off.”

Host:
“Yeah, so we hope you don’t find yourself in a situation where these guys can help. But they do so much more too. You do remodeling. I want to show you some before and after pics that you guys have sent over. Now if you want to elaborate on these, they look great.”

Emily:
“The first one was some exterior painting that we did. And you can see we can even do brick work. We added a porch there. And this is an example of what some of the worst water damage situations could look like for someone. Water is pouring in through the ceiling and they’re trying to respond to the emergency

Host:
“That’s definitely a big deal, of course if you do find yourself in this situation, be prepared, and if you want some contact information. Here’s some here for Ram Restoration. If you want to get ahold of them you can find them at ramrestorationusa.com. You guys are located in Centerville.

Randy:
“We are we are located in Centerville on Yankee street. We have been there for many years, and we do everything. A lot of times when you call a local restoration company they’re going to come out and just handle the water emergency. We do the complete put back, remodel your home and take care of all that.”

Host:
“Well hopefully we don’t get in this situation, but if we do it sounds like you’re the company to call to get all of it done in one place. We appreciate you Emily and Randy for coming on to share the details. Thanks”
